One side is made from women's weft ikat silk sarongs, the other from men's plaid silk sarongs. All the pieced blocks are surrounded by black silk borders. This is a bedcover rather than a quilt, as there is no batting.
Made around 1990 from parts of silk sarongs that date from early to mid 1900s.
Size is approximately 88 x 112 inches (over 7 x 9 feet). The main photo shows only a section (less than a quarter) of the whole thing.
