Early Indian chintz trade cloth fragment

Trade cloth fragment made in India for the eastern Indonesian market (probably Sulawesi area), c. late 17th to early 18th C.  Minimum 300 years old.  Showing a series of geese or ducks holding flowers, in red, black, light brown, and light blue-green. Very good condition: light fading, three small holes; conserved, sewn down on cloth with mat board.  Overall mat size: 20 x 30 inches;  sight size: 13 3/4 x 23 1/2 inches;  textile size: approx. 14 x 25 inches.
